Today I came across an article titled&nbsp;<a href="https://www.theatlantic.com/books/archive/2024/03/best-books-american-fiction/677479/">The Great American Novels</a>&nbsp;by The Atlantic where they write "In 1868, a little-known writer by the name of John William DeForest proposed a new type of literature, a collective artistic project for a nation just emerging from an existential conflict: a work of fiction that accomplished 'the task of painting the American soul.'"

They go on to describe their process - curating a list of "American" novels. Some were books I have seen on other such lists, some were not.&nbsp;

I love books and try to read "the greats" but I hlam only about 20% through any of the lists, mostly due to high school reading curriculum.&nbsp;

I have been considering a theme with Starlo and I think with this list I have found it. With 2 kids, it will go a little slow but stay tuned!
